I'm a little concerned for woody. Is his injury more serious than we thought? I expected we would see him on one of those 3rd down plays.

An ugly win puts a 1 in the correct column just the same. Iowa completely figured us out in the second half, good thing we scored early. Second half was a perfect storm of our defense being great when it mattered most, ie. 1st and goal inside the 5, and their offense being absolute ****.

Get a grip. We beat Iowa in their house...while committing 4 turnovers and playing poorly. That is as big a sign that our program is "arrriving" as anything you'll ever see. Playing badly in winning on the road...in a place that is tough for ANY team to win...is a great sign. It feels crappy because we know we underperformed...but the truth is we were good enough to overcome a bad game on the road...and that has rarely been true of any Iowa State team in the past.

Cyclones definitely need to work on their red zone offense.

It is not the red zone, its the turnover zone. Has been for years. How about our kicker. Pretty impressive missing an PAT. Same old, same old, but ISU won. Ugly win at that.

One of our units looks excellent, and one only looked great for a half. We're 2-0 and look to have better high-end potential on both offense and defense that we have had in years.

15 years ago, we had just endured a 0-15 stretch against Iowa. The last 15 years, we have won 9, including a game today, believe it or not. God bless Dan McCarney, God bless Paul Rhoads, and God bless Jake Knott!!
