Hi my name is DMclone and I'm a Rock Bandaholic
Hi DMClone

I just picked this up tonight. I've never played Guitar Hero but after seeing some kids at the store playing Rock Band, I knew I had to have it.

I now have a little recording studio in my basement filled with fake instruments.

What ever happened to good, wholesome video games where you shoot the crap out of each other and then dance on top of their bloody mangled corpses?!?

Don't worry, they are still around, but sometimes you just need to rock out!

My brother-in-law got it for Christmas, and I got to play it. Guitar Hero III is now on my "to get" list (along with I and II)

Does anyone know...do they make "Guitar Hero III" for PS3, or only Rock Band? I've seen Guitar Hero III for PS2, and I know I can play PS2 games on my 80Gb PS3, but am I missing something? I really want to buy Guitar Hero, but don't want to spend the $170 for Rock Band I guess. Thoughts?

They do have Guitar Hero 3 for PS3. I have it purchased and it is really a fun game to play for the whole family. I just recently got Rock Band also and it incorporates the GH3 part into it with the drums, and singer. Really a fun thing to watch...I'll add a video of it here shortly.

I hung my mic from the acoustical tile ceiling in my basement so I can sing and play at the same time.

"SAY it ain't SOOO-WHOA-WHOA!"

Goodbye self respect. You stuck with me as long as you could.

At least I'm not these guys: Games Radar - XBOX 360 features - Rock Band - Think you're a rock star? This is how you really sound

Have you downloaded "Buddy Holly"? Love it!!! Is that available on the PS3 or just the 360? I tried to do drums and sing at the same time.

Just a small heads up to anybody who's going to purchase the Wii version (of Guitar Hero III). There is a problem with the Dolby Pro Logic tracks on the disc causing the game to output only mono sound. Activision is going to be sending out replacement discs to those who ask for them, they haven't set a time frame for doing this however.

We had Rockband earlier in Yhanksgiving and became hooked. My five boys and spouse played all XMAS on Rock Band, Mass Effect, and Call for Duty 4.

For XMAS, our youngest boy received a decent drum stool and a mic stand to support RockBand. We fight over who sings and everyone is trying all the instruments. Just a great game. New songs come out every week. Next time we are going to buy a real drumset. We now have couple of real guitars and an organ. My 4th boy actually is in 2 banmds in the DC area, so he is the most experienced. Put me in the novice group.
