By process of elimination, this is the kid who got an offer at ISU's Junior-Senior camp this weekend (no, I don't have a subscription):

Trevon Young - Yahoo! Sports

Linebacker, or grows into an end?

I think he would end up at DE IMO. 4.7 speed isn't the greatest for a LB, not bad either, but if he can keep that speed and put on 30 good lbs, he'd be a great DE.

Iowa State must have only offered because Iowa offered. :jimlad:

Am I doing it right?

Pretty close.

If he ends up verbally committing to ISU though, he might end up switching it to Iowa after he discovers it will be easier to get playing time at Iowa.... like Barkley Hill did.

Judging that he's being recruited by 2 dline coaches, and his size, id say he Plays DE.

Or after everyone figures out that he's slower than he looks.

Well, if he doesn't choose the Cyclones, hopefully he chooses the Jackrabbits.

That's not what happened.
Forgot the jimlad--but I'm still just as happy he went to Iowa.

One good thing about Young, it's nice to see one of the D.M. city schools putting out talent. All those high schools have been a virtual wasteland for far too long.

Not a big point, but Iowa does not typically have it's coaches recruit by position, but rather by region. ISU most likely does not do that, but thought it was worth mentioning.

But I would agree, that his size and attributes look like DE.

Thats what ISU does. Iowa is not breaking new ground in any aspect of their program.
