For all of you who like to dig into things, I'd like to know how much money ISU could end up with from this years bowl game, if any. And how much we could get from all of the B12 bowl games.

Thanks in advance everyone! Go Cyclones!!

Do you know if the conference shares debt if we lose money?

And I wonder how that works for our tickets. If we sell $125 tickets for $75 (eating $50 per ticket) does that count as bowl expenses? If so, that's a great deal because we'd essentially pay only 1/10th of that $50. The flip side is we'd pay 1/10th of any other conference school's ticket subsidizing. I'm guessing we can't write that off as a bowl expense against the bowl income.

We won't know that if it's released at all until after the bowls since everyone does their best to cover their costs with that money then it all goes into a pot and get's split up.

Pinstripe bowl pays out $1.8 mil per team. The OP could look the info up as easily as anyone.

All schools will spend nearly their total bowl payout other than OSU in a BCS bowl. Conservatively figure they end up sharing about $12MM with member schools, so ISU will end up with $1.2MM to maybe a max of $1.5MM. You don't really get serious coin unless you get 2 BCS teams. Still hacked about that...

I'll be surprised if Iowa State gets the $1.2m. I'd bet we end up losing money because I'm betting we'll be eating some tickets.

Bowls aren't really about making money for the teams. They are about the experience and the extra practice for the non-seniors. The only parties that make a lot of money is the bowls and the television networks.

So basically having a second BCS is worth more than a million to each opf the conference teams....screw the voters who made OSU 5th and 6th....no wonder they had manipulated votes....that said, our OSU win cost aTm and MO and us a million bucks.
