Let's say I have inside info on the Minnesota team. This is a wasted year, they need all new players with a proper attitude.

So when is Minnesota going to quit playing NDSU - or at least get good enough to beat them...?
They just need to flat out stop playing the Dakotas.

2007- L to North Dakota State
2009- W over South Dakota State (only by 3)
2010- L to South Dakota
2011- L to North Dakota State

Outside of 2009, when was the last time it wasn't a throw away year for Minnesota?

Additionally, I find it strange this is one of the teams that Iowa has struggled with over the last few years.

Lets not forget that SD was just a couple of years removed from being a D2 team. They were still working on the transition. I'm not sure but may have also been true of SDS.

EDIT: SD was actually a D2 team technically at the time. They were still working to get qualified as a D1-FCS team.

It was true of both North Dakota State and South Dakota State as they were in "transition" at the same time as each other somewhere in the 2007-2009 area or something like that (maybe it was 2006-2008.) Essentially, Minnesota has been losing to or barely beating D2 teams.

FYI, Wiki says:

NDSU moved up for 2007 season
SDSU moved up for 2004
SD just moved up this year. They actually were D2 when they played.

Gotcha.

What I do know is NDSU and SDSU moved into the Missouri Valley Conference in the same year together. SD is scheduled to move into the conference in the next year or two.

Didn't Minnesota lose to New Mexico, too? NDSU is a better team them them, though. Gophers are really falling on hard times. They put so much into playing USC close then can't play with anyone...

Yeah, you are also right, as SDSU played as D1-AA under a diff. conf. for a few yrs.

It's okay. I can go to TCF Bank stadium, freeze my *** off and watch my Hawks lose to this...you say it's a football team?...huh...

Though I guess this year, it is unlikely to be snowing around Halloween.
