God I hope so! Losing best offensive player (JC), best defensive player (Berry), and also one of the best young TE's in the league hurts. I predicted 6-10 or 7-9 before the year starts but now I wouldn't be suprised to see if we get 3-4 wins.

Why would the Chiefs go after a QB when they signed Cassel to a 6 year, 63 million dollar contact? They can use the money to get what they really need like an OL, another WR or some more LB's.

This. Anyone who is in position to get Luck will need him and will take him.

Or trade away the #1 spot to a team that really needs a QB and is willing to spend a lot of money and many draft selections to get to #1. This will pay dividents not only for next year but dependent on how many draft selections they can get in the trade, for years to come.

Whoever gets the first pick will need him. Seattle, indy, kc all need him.

Yes we have to take him. Cassel sucks. Their running game made his look ok last year. I don't know anybody who thinks he's the answer. Plus, i don't trust Pioli with trading picks. I don't wanna give up Luck for two tyson Jacksons. Draft 1 not good for him. Two looked great once and is so so now. And our first round pick from last year isn't even playing. Nobody knows who's in charge of the offense. That franchise is a mess. Even bad teams in the NFL don't lose by 40 points a week. they have been outscord 157-23 in their last four games going back to last year.

Judging from their performances so far this year, they didn't need Charles to get hurt to be in the sweepstakes. This does solidify their chances though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they were firmly in the race for Luck long before Charles went down.

They were actually doing a fine job in the Luck sweepstakes before Charles went down.

This is the worst Chiefs team that I can remember. Much worse than even 3-4 key injuries should make you. They have other problems and it started in the pre season.

Cassel is horrible. Haley needs to go as well.

Sweepstakes would imply some sort of contest. After what I have seen the last two weeks, I don't think there is any sort of competition for worst team in the NFL. I think the Chiefs have this locked down.

So, was it Pioli's choice to sit on all that cap space instead of signing some much needed help in the offseason? Or is Clark Hunt being cheap to blame? Can't believe how bad an offseason they had. Oh, and it looks like Haley's unique pre-season strategy was a huge mistake.

As bad as the chiefs have been this year, I would have been more worried that the mascot didn't suffer a season ending injury on that play as well.

Yeah, I wondered how this team was going to be when Lamar passed away.

Slightly off the subject but how in the world did the Chiefs make the playoffs last year??

This team has 0-16 potential.
