I wish him well. It sucks that we lost him, but obviously he didn't want to play under a disciplined style like Mac has. Good luck to him, I'll take who we have.
Agreed. It's better for him to go somewhere where he can get some playing time vs. not being able to fit in to Mac's system.
I know Taggart Struggled his freshman year, but he was very sick the first 2 months of the season and lost 20 pounds. Plus, there wasn't a lot of discipline under the previous regime. He would have flourished under McDermott. He will do well at Memphis, and I wish him well.
Yeah, I think a little McD would have done Taggart well. Look what he did with Jiri and Wes....think what he could have done by bulking and toughening up the quite talented Taggart. Oh well, I guess it's his loss.
That being said, good luck to him. Hopefully we'll play him in the big dance.
No not really... ESPN had him with 15 boards. But i dont know what teh official numbers were.
His main problem at iowa state was his attitude, i think he definetely had potential as a basketball player though. he had a problem with mcdermotts no swearing thing is what I heard. good luck to him there though

Looks like a good line in the box score to me. Taggart was a major talent! He was sick early in his ISU career and then most fans tossed him to the curb along with Morgan, which was wrong. Taggart lost a ton of weight and missed numerous weeks. It was particularly disturbing to read posts of how lazy he was and imply that Morgan was the reason. Taggart will be a major part of the Memphis NCAA tourney run. I questioned Morgan's coaching, but college basketball is at least 70% talent and players like Taggart do not come around often.

Ugh, don't blame this one on the fans. Taggart left because he wanted to and it had nothing to do with the fans. He and McD didn't click and that was that. If he didn't want to be a Cyclone I don't want him to be either.
Taggart is going to be a very good player, and he would have been a very good player if he had stayed at ISU. As people have said he was sick and a freshman. We beat out Memphis and Calipari to get him. I think he knows talent, and Tags certainly has it.
