$cam Newton. Only because I want him to be picked first, so he is forced to play right away, and then is exposed for a ****** nfl quarter back.

I would go with Marcell Dareus. I would be extremely tempted to go with Patrick Petereson because he is a freak of nature. However, one knee injury and a CB/S can end up worthless. I think Dareus has low bust potential.

I will be extremely interested if they take Newton. Sure he is a gifted athlete, but how well does that usually work out in the NFL? You see the guys like Manning and Brady make it more often than Vick or McNabb. He has Vince Young flame out written all over him combined with obvious character questions.

Fairley could be a monster but he is also a headcase with work ethic issues.

AJ Green could have the same fate as Peterson with an injury or two. Thats a lot of money for a WR.

Von Miller could be very good in a 3-4 but I'm not sure if he's an every down LB or just a pass rush specialist. Pretty raw for the #1 pick.

I'm not sure who I would take but I'd bet Von Miller will find his way to the Cowgirls.
Really? I heard they might trade up, but it was for Peterson. I would be pretty pumped for Miller, much more than JJ Watt.

This discussion begins and ends with Stanzi. The guy is just a playmaker cut from the Brady mold. If there was ever such a thing as a guarantee with a draft pick, Stanzi would be it. He glides around the football field like a surfer riding Pacific waves. It just flows so smoothly. He has ice in his veins coarsing through his All American prototypical NFL QB physique. I can only imagine how many Superbowl rings he will accumulate during his extensive NFL career. Could it reach double figures?? I think so!
Gentlemen, you've heard the names Unitas, Staubach, Montana, Favre, Manning, Brady. Prepare to experience true greatness in one Rick Stanzi. A once in a lifetime player!

Von was on the radio saying how much he'd like to play for Dallas and some A&M people think it could happen (not the SEC loving group  ). Seems like the Cowboys like to get local talent when they can.

Patrick Peterson, though I think they would be better served trading down a few spots to get either Peterson, Dareus, or Miller. There just isn't a top-flight QB in this class, IMO. Maybe someone will become one, but there's nobody worth a top 5 pick.

Joke now, but picking him in the 3-5th round is better than picking Newton or Gabbert in the top 5.

I would pick Peterson if I was Carolina.

I agree that I'd pass on a quarterback with the No. 1 pick. I'm not sold on Newton or Gabbert...yes they have pluses but there's just too many questions for me. Next year there will be another big quarterback class coming into the draft so take a year and see what you have with Clausen. He either sucks and you have a good shot at Andrew Luck next year or he turns out to be not bad and you have your QB.

I'd take Peterson or grab A.J. Green to help Clausen or the QB of the future if they draft one next year

It was syzurp. Guaranteed.

I think you have to take PP in this case. He can play anywhere in your defensive backfield, with enough speed to cover WR in single cover and enough size to step in the box on run support, that versatility is huge. If you don't take him, I take one of the other versatile guys, either Dareus who can play inside or outside DL or Miller who can kick *** in a 3-4 scheme.

Von Miller. You pick Newton you have to pay him 1st pick QB money (unless something with the CB changes.) If you can't trade out of the 1st pick Von Miller is pro ready, seemingly bust proof and you won't have to pay him like a QB or DB.

Right on. Bolster the pass rush this year, fill some other holes, and don't take a chance on a QB that early in the draft unless you're confident he's the future at that position. I don't get the impression that the Panthers are anywhere near sold on Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert.

Trade, trade, trade if possible. This is the worst year I can remember for a sure-fire #1 pick. Are some nice picks there, but none I would spend #1 money on.
