So much to laugh at in that article.

"When it’s all said and done, it’s safe to assume McCaffery will have a better overall career in the Hawkeye State."

"[Iowa State] has won just two conference games in the weaker Big 12"

Silly Iowa journalism students.

Cooler nickname White Magic vs. The Mayor??? Sorry unless White Magic is referring to Charlie Sheen, The Mayor wins everytime.

I think that this year is up for debate. But, to me it is crazy to say that McCaffery has recruited better than Fred. Oglesby and Aaron White? Please. Those guys are role players in a BCS conference. I think that ISU is set up better in the short term, as far as next year and the year after. Long term, it remains to be seen whether Fred's or Fran's strategy is better. Fran is going to have to somehow get some momentum going and start recruiting better if he wants to get out of the hole.

I would also disagree with calling it the "weaker" Big 12.

That might be one of the dumbest things I have ever read in my entire life. Not that I would expect anything different from the Iowa paper, but still.

The only real answer about which coach was the best hire will become evident five years from now. Both guys are coaching bad teams right now.

Easy, Hawk logic. Since the B12 didn't lose a game to the B10 this year it must be a weaker conference.

Yea. Seriously, the big 12 went 7 - 0 (unless I missed one) against the little eleven this year. How is this even debatable...

The Daily Iowan is a student newspaper which makes it worthless. The conference strength and recruiting comments are tragically stupid.

Yep. And the Big 12 had ZERO of those games at home. 4 were on the road and 3 were neutral games.

Right now Lunardi has both conferences getting 6 teams in the conference but the Big 10 has a chance to choke it down to 4. I doubt it happens but it could.

I had the most problem with the 'safe to assume' that Fran has a better career than Fred. Safe to assume based upon what? Hopes and more hopes?
Weak article indeed.

This is a complete joke. Fred is easily doing better this year and he will easily have a better career than Fran. Do the writers even know what we have for next year? They both look like nerds that know nothing about sports and have been following the two teams just this year and think that they now all of a sudden know everything there is to know about college basketball. These two don't deserve to lick the dirt off the bottom of Fred or Fran's shoes.

Since when did Basabe and Cartwright become two of the best players in the Big10? Cartwright wouldn't even start on our team.
