So we have 66 on scholarship right now. With the 3 early enrollees we have 69. We end up with 88 on scholarship with the class right now. Matt Morton and Zach Guyer I'm not sure will keep their scholly? So it looks like 86, so either we'll see more transfers, or some in this class won't make it. Let's try not to speculate.

27 Morgan, C.J. LB 6-2 200 rFr. (?) Florida
4 Young, Anthony DB 5-8 172 Jr. (?) California
15 Young, Chris WR 5-11 187 Sr. (?) Texas

Anthony Young will be a Senior, Chris young will be a RsJr, and CJ Morgan will be a RsFr. His rivals page lists him as Clifford Morgan.

You can obviously take Bo Williams off the roster for next year. I'm sure that there will be a couple more guys that leave after the spring semester...it does them no good to leave in January because they are going to have to sit out that next fall regardless. Might as well compete in the spring and then transfer if they want.

My scholarship questions are: Is Zimmerman on scholarship? What about Guyer? I could see them taking him off for a few years but promising that he would get a scholarship as a SR. Also, the OP forgot Kron in there. He would be a true FR this coming fall.

no2cyclones, Matt Van ****, according to the cyclones.com football roster today. I don't have a clue how or why the asterisks appeared.

Yes13, appreciate the update on Morgan and the Youngs. You say 66 on scholarship; are you including a departure by Bo Williams? Thought I'd wait for official word before changing the roster above.

Kron . . . I'm racing off to work, I'll add him later. Is he considered an early enrollee, then? Which class should I put him in?

i don't think he was speculating that those 3 would be gone or any 1 of the 3. chris young rs'd last year and will only be a junior, and 1 that i am expecting big things out of. largely hyped by jeremy crabtree of rivals radio coming out of juco.

anthony young is a senior and played a bit last year. why would he leave now with more pt in line?

i also think morgan will be a solid player for us, and i would guess he will see some pt if nothing else on special teams. maybe if tauofoou is out for awhile he and george will split time.

none of the 3 would make sense to transfer at this point, and if they did, it would be a blow.

VERY rarely will a coach take a scholarship away from someone and they will stay. If Morton and Guyer are here this fall, can't imagine they wouldn't be on scholly.

The OP had a question about those three. I don't think he knew what class they were in. I was clearing them up for him. He obviously edited it since then.

So basically the Clones will have roughly 67-68 scholarship players currently on the team....along with another 3 from this class in the form of transfers that we know will be suiting up with the intention to play.

And then perhaps a handful of guys from the 2011 class will see playing time this fall as well. With all that the Clones are looking at having roughly 75-80 scholarship players on the field/at the coaches disposal.

Ive haven't crunched all the numbers but it looks like 2012 will be the year a full compliment of players is put on the field. When was the last time the Clones had a full 85? I'd guess most likely 2004? Possibly September 2005, but obviously no later than that. Thats 8 consecutive years of being short handed! EIGHT!
