Practice was INTENSE!
started with some guard on guard, big on big drills....then did some halfcourt sets...then some full court outlet pass sets...followed by the shell drill...sprints and freethrows.
I will tell you this, they went HARD for the entire hour and a half we were watching.
They worked a lot on getting the rebound, inbounding and outlet passing up the court after misses and makes.
A few thoughts on players...
DG looked good, lots of energy out of him and he knocked down a couple 3s
JVB hit only 1 - 3 i believe, and didn't look good downlow, seemed to get frustrated
SC - what can I say...he plays his tail off and looked better than anyone else on the court - knocked down almost every shot
CA - has a nice shot...and is very quick on D...was all over Ejim
CB - likes to talk it up and was when he makes you look bad,, he lets you know...hit a few shots and plays good d
JR - just looks raw...a couple mental lapses but i think that was because he isn't used toplaying with some of the guuys...but he works hard and gets up and down the floor well
AB - plays with intensity and knocked down a 3 when he was left open.
RW - the man is thick...and rebounds and goes hard! didn't play with first team and didn't do much in practice...had some rebounds and a couple putbacks
CG - same as AB...with the intensity and he plays hard.
bubu- kids quick...got his hands on a ton of tiped passes
ME - kid was playing hard, but i think CA and CB defense frustrated him a lot!
mcnight, phillips and andersen DNP.
What could you gather from the coaching staff? Did Coach Hoiberg take control of the entire practice, or did he lean on Coach Lutz/Coach Otz at certain points? In your opinion, what can we expect to see from the coaches/players on game day to bring the magic back? What one player could provide a spark that could get ISU fans out of their seats?

To begin practice, TJ was with the bigs and Otz was with the guards...FH was at midcourt observing and commenting on what was going on at either end.
when the whole team came together and did half court sets, TJ stayed on the baseline and i couldnt hear what he was syaing...he was talking to the bigs...Otz and FH were at midcourt and talking to them about spacing positioning, etc. The whole team huddled up several times after specific sets and I would say Lutz probably did more talking, but FH definately had guys attention and was running the show. I don't really think he was leaning on either of them for anything...they are all coaches and are watching different things at different times and all had their moments and coaching pointers throughout.
You can expect A LOT of intensity!!! the entire practice was intense and FULL OF CHATTER.....ball ball ball ball ball...help help help...dead dead dead...etc from everyone!!! Also, expect that FAST PACED game! they went hard the entire practice for a reason and pushed the ball all the time! FH will deliver on what he promised...guy were also diving out of bounds to save balls and getting on the floor. The coaches stressed playing til the whistle a lot!
Scotty is that spark. I honestly think we will live and die on his shooting! plain and simple....the scout team looked better than the starters CA and CB are GOOD!!! :skeptical:
