Wonder if the FSU 2002 game will make it in there? Or the '92 NU game.

Was at that '04 game. Was it De'Andre Jackson who got the turnover to setup the FG? When he didn't score, I got that pit in my stomach. You just knew with the wind and our kicking woes, it wasn't going to go good.

Believe it was Steve Paris.

The sad part was trying to guess which game this was without following the link. Uconn, at NU overtime game, last year KSU... We've had some painful losses.

I played the same game. You could lump 1/3 of ISU's football history into the painful category and you might be underestimating it.

Probably was. Thx.

Most painful one I recall while in school was '92 versus KU, I believe. Had an insane lead in the 4th just to whizz it away. Insignificant game, but still painful the way it went down.

This is a pretty cool list. Its funny that they list it as the most painful losses, that is only looking at it from one side. It could also be a most glorious win depending on what angle you are coming from.

My bet for #1 is the NU/Mia game where Osborne elects to go for two and the win and fails. Only to lose the NC. Probably one of the gutsiest calls ever made. I can only imagine the pain and agony that one caused.

Almost all of our most painful losses came by playing not to lose down the stretch. Only exception I can think of at the moment was 2002 FSU.

You'd think the program and HC would learn from his own history - but it never happened.

I followed up the KU loss with a trip to Hilton to watch Stinson and Blalock get shellacked by Iona. Tough day to be a Clone.

Notice, they aren't anywhere close to being done with that list.

Look for us to make it again. My prediction: 2005 KU, and they show the picture of D-Jack dejected at mid field as KU fans storm the field.

2005 @ KU to go to the Big 12 championship.

That is my worst. Mac never recovered from that loss.
People remember the 2005 KU game but to me the tougher loss was the 2005 Nebraska game. We had a chance to win that game in Lincoln but lost in OT. Win that game and the KU game doesn't even matter.

Of course, we also lost to Baylor at home that year.

Whenever we hear shot about last years Nebraska game we should bring up number 43.

'05 was a season full of painful, self-inflicted losses. ISU '05 was a perfect example of a bottom-feeder program with a lot of potential, that simply still didn't know how to win.
