So what are the chances that they found nothing with search warrant, since the case is closed according the Iowa courts website?

First Mcdermott quits and goes to Creighton
Then Hoiberg get's hired
Hoiberg get's all the recruits to stay commited.
Then the Big 12 keeps us and gives us a huge pay raise.
We pick up Royce White a five star player

Seriously you guys did not expect something to go against us. ISU has never had that many things in a row go our way.

Not with CW in town...........

well the cat is out of the bag now, so lets get this "premium information" out for the rest of us to know....

It would seem that nobody knows anything. That's pretty much the point.

BTW- to the best of my knowledge, only two posts were removed. That should tell you plenty about what is "known" about this.

If it was something involving credit card fraud that would make me feel much better about seeing him play in the ISU uniform vs. some kind of assault/violent crime/etc.

Enough with the Hawkeye comparisons. It has nothing to do with this case. Good lord people.

Is there a way posters would have to prove they aren't completely incompetent before they could post? 50 practice posts to prove your value to the conversation?

If all this is true and he did get mixed up with someone else's credit card, hopefully he didn't purchase enough to make it a felony. I'd imagine thats what the search warrant was for, to seize the items he purchased and use them as evidence against him.

I don't know about that.

If it were some kid getting into a bar fight or something that most everyone has happen to them at some point... I could understand. Heat of the moment kind of thing.

IF it has something to do with a conscious decision to use someone else's card - as is being suggested..... that's just all around dumb and criminal. Again.. IF

Just talked to a reliable source that works on campus it has to do with theft, but the search warrant turned up nothing, there is also someone else involved that may be the guilty party, but this individual is not an athlete.

Just did a little research on the Iowa Credit Card/Identity Theft Laws:

Aggravated misdemeanor if under $1,000
Class D felony if exceeds $1,000
Any real or personal property obtained by a person as a result of a violation of this section, including but not limited to any money, interest, security, claim, contractual right, or financial instrument that is in the possession of the person, shall be subject to seizure and forfeiture pursuant to chapter 809A. A victim injured by a violation of this section, or a financial institution that has indemnified a victim injured by a violation of this section, may file a claim as an interest holder pursuant to section 809A.11 for payment of damages suffered by the victim including costs of recovery and reasonable attorney fees.

Good to know. I was hoping they wouldn't walk into his apt and find a brand new flat screen tv and 10 pairs of new shoes, with the receipt sitting on the counter.

This, Sims is good to go based on my source as well. We can all stop speculating now and prepare for a bowl game this season.

Talked to some relatives that work at the university, the story sounded similar.

Either way...Mr. Elliot better have the 2nd string guys ready to go just in case of injury. Losing either sims or LJ could spell disaster for the defense.
