Well the Big 12 is good at sitting and waiting to see what happens. Nothing new here.

This is a huge development, IMO. This tells me that something has been worked out with the AD's, but now the chancellors must vote on it tomorrow before Beebe goes out and lies during a press conference.

I'll believe it when the Baylor alums call an emergency session of the Texas State Legislature. This can't happen without some sort of government okay. That will take time and possibly a good amount of debate within the board of regents or whatever their equivalent is.

Baylor does not have the pull in the Texas Legislature/Gov. Mansion like it once did. Texas & aTm will do as they want without regard to Baylor.

8 teams want out with Nebraska and Missouri going to the Big10. The other 6, Colorado, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Okie St are all going to go the Pac10 making it a 16 team super conference.

You have to wonder if the Big 12 blogger for ESPN is worried he might be out of a gig if the Big 12 implodes.

I must say, some of the quotes in there make it look like there is a ton of disagreement among the members and that something is going to happen.

I would agree. I think the death of the Big 12 will eventually be traced back to its formation. Taking the four southern schools who eventually grew to prominance (OU was our to begin with but...) grew the rift between the North and the South. Only, sadly, this time I think the Confederates might get us. :dull:

Money title games by others and a decent TV package will destroy the Big 12 in the end.

For sure this will hurt recruiting.

You have several Big 12 AD's commenting and JP is conspicuously quiet. But what can you say when you are representing an institution that is totally impotent relative to what is apparently going down.

This is very sad.
