I'm pretty sure the Smiley Face Killers are ghosts or some other supernatural creature, since in this latest "case" (LaCrosse, WI) there were a single set of footprints leading to the river ice, and security cameras caught footage of the guy walking alone through downtown LaCrosse in the early hours of the morning.

Dang, you got me there.

Although, I really don't want to see any dude sporting a transparent robe.

There are people on both sides who are being contentious - throwing out asterisks, etc. Everyone should probably just settle down - there's no rule anywhere in this thread that says it's only for one side or the other, and there's no need to involve personal attacks.

Yet didn't you tell a certain poster to "grow the **** up" awhile back if I recall correctly?

I'm not sure I made any jokes about the deaths of people, which is sad.

I'm not even sure I made light of the theory. I provided evidence that ran counter to the theory, and don't see why that should bend you outta shape.

Read above quotes. Yeah sure it wasnt as bad as Lono and ddisu, but the fact remains you're a moderator, I'd think you'd avoid making light of a situation like that, but maybe thats just me.

It seems like you're being a bit too sensitive, but maybe that's just me. All I said was that the SFK stuff doesn't seem plausible in the LaCrosse case, based on the evidence. Don't really think that's making light of the situation. And, you responded to me supposedly not being classy with an expletive-laced tirade. Who's not classy here?

I never said I was classy, cause i know i'm not a good majority of the time. But as a moderator, a position of power, you'd think you stay out of stuff like that hmm? I'm just an everyday poster.

You can always report any post by anyone. Please do that if you feel my post was against site rules.

If it would make you feel better, I'll rephrase my post that got you all upset.

"Why are people lumping the latest LaCrosse case into the SFK phenomenon when there is one set of footprints on the ice, and video footage of the missing guy walking around downtown LaCrosse near the time of his disappearance?"

Lets be serious here, obviously not every single case is connected. That doesn't mean there aren't any smiley face killers. Even if they only did 10 or so out of the 80 or whatever the number is, that doesn't mean they don't exist. Jon wasn't drunk, some of them only had a few(like Jon). I've drank with him and hes not the wonder off and do something stupid kind of guy.

The news last night even brought up the SFK theory while they talked about the guy from LaCrosse and also mentions the Lacina missing person case as well.

Also what is stopping some guy from telling a drunk guy that he dropped his wallet on the ice with a bunch of money in it. Tell the drunk guy to go get it and he will give him a chunk of money. What drunk guy would turn down free money like that?

Man, if only Velma was here to put all these clues together.

Beacause jokes, generally speaking, make things better. I doubt if this group exists, but it could. There are some real whack jobs out there and they do unimaginable things. Look at some of the cults, mass suicides, secret societys. I would think if there is a group, there would be a little more credible theories than what links all these together.

I gave you my thoughts on it. I make one Scooby Doo joke and you get them all in a bunch.

This is stupid, there is nothing to prove any of this other then a couple of smiley faces by some dump sites. I mean really walk up to some of your friends and share your "theory" on the missing kid and see the look on your face. I mean I tried sharing it with a couple of other people and they laughed harder then I did. Find the body of the kid and then you can make up all the stories you want.

Oh so persuasive..... My opinion is now changed.... :jimlad: Most dont think its this group if it exists. but to say its not a plausible theory, is a stretch, when no one, not even the police know what happend for sure.

Exactly, so why believe everything you hear? There is zero evidence that says that it is this group and also zero that says it isnt, but the truth of the matter is no one knows anything about it. So why come on here and talk about this and spread rumors that arent true I mean nobody knows so why make **** like this up

Did I say I believe it was this group or the group even exists? There is evidence to that can support both sides. Lets be real, there are some sick individuals in todays world, so its naive to think that a group like this may not exist. i think its getting overboard when assuming every case is now dealing with SFK, but its important to investigate all theories and possiblities. I Wouldnt be surprised if there was a group committing these crimes, but I'm also not going to flat out say they exist. i'll let the professionals do there thing.

But I also don't get why people have to beraid people for discussing a theory. Sure they may assume or get a bit overboard, but if they want to discuss there opinion and theory on something. Why do people have to be ****** and tell them they are wrong to think that when there is no evidence that this group doesn't exist?

I was not specifically saying that you said that they did the crime, what i was meaning is that several people on here talk like they know the SFKs did this crime. All I am saying until charges are filed no one knows what happened so dont talk like you know. Yes opinions are fine but several people are talking like they know what happened and they shouldnt.

I fail to see how SFK relates to alien abductions. I can prove that people kill each other and also that serial killers exist. I can't prove that aliens exist. They aren't even on the same page. It's frustrating someone would actually lump UFOs and aliens in the same picture as a bunch of killings.

To me it shows an ineptness in logical thought to think that this isn't feasible. Aliens, or a serial killer. Isn't there 5-10 serial killers "working" in the US at any given time? What is so unbelievable about a serial killer again?

statistically speaking there should be about 100 serial killers working in the United States. However, the theory doesn't fit the profile of serial killers. A team of killers is unusual. The multiple teams it would take to pull this off of is unheard of. Not impossible just unheard of.

Also there is no hard evidence suggesting these groups exist and I'm sorry, but with a theory like this the burden of proof is on the people pushing the theory.

But wait, where's the counterproof? Doesn't Lacrosse Police Captain Rob Abraham have to provide counterproof that the SFK weren't responsible? I thought that's the way things worked. Doesn't he know that a New York Dectective mortgaged his house? Doesn't that mean anything to him? :jimlad:

Great find, Kilgore.

No offense, but it's obvious you know nothing about proofs. If you actually prove something without a doubt, there's no reason for a counter proof. Counter proofs are meant to disprove something, get it? If you prove something, why the **** would you need a counter proof?

If you have something, such as photographic evidence, it's part of the proof. You wouldn't need any other work on the proof...counter example or not.

I can't believe I just read that.
