I went to high school and was friends with craig meyers the missing 21 year old from La Crosse and let me tell you he has a good head on his shoulders. I know when your drunk you can do some stupid stuff but he would have had to walk like eight blocks to drown in the river. When he was only a block or so from his girlfriends, where he was headed for the night. Growing up in the La Crosse area it seems like we have had to deal with this almost every year. It just doesn't make sense that it would keep happening when every one knows the dangers of going down by the river. Personally I think something weird is up.
I had the radio on last night and some program was talking about SFK. Listened for awhile. They were talking about some kid who was found in a pond in Michigan or something they ruled an accidental drowning and they had a coroner from the state of NY on who reviewed the autopsy done and said it was not right. I guess they said the kid was in the water for 20 days, but the coroner said that was BS and he'd been in there for 3-5 days because of the decomposition of tissue or something. I guess he got 200 other coroners to agree with him but the state of Michigan wouldn't re-open the case even though tons of certified coroners said it was wrong.
Superstitious much? Seriously, take a good look at that website. What a bunch of baloney. I understand that there are serial killers, but a lot of you are getting way too excited about this. Also, 8 people drowned in 9 years in a college town? Wow, there is no other possible explanation but a serial killer. Are you serious? Step back for a second and actually look and what a pile of conjecture you have cooked up from too many movies and tv. More evidence to the fact that you shouldn't believe anything you read on the internet.
If you don't like it, I suggest getting the contact information for the NYC detective and the NYC sargent who came up with the theory, as well as the professor from minnesota state (I think?) who came up with it in parallel, but separate...and take it up with them.
If you actually presented good enough evidence to discount them, they might do something about it.

I get it that some of that information is a bit of a stretch. But change this 'Also, 8 people drowned in 9 years in a college town?' to 'Also, 8 women drowned in 9 years in a college town?' and you would have a media frenzy. Also, it's not just 8 people in 9 years, it is now possibly up to 40, all of generally the same demographic, and certain towns, and patterns keep showing up.
Sorry, I did that as a joke because I thought some people were taking this way too far.

I saw on another forum, non-ISU, the Mechanical Engineering dept put out some letter to all ME students warning them of some event that just happened.
Apparently a TA of some class at night walked outside of Sweeney and was approached by some guy who randomly offered him a ride home and nagging him about it. The TA was uncomfortable, and all of a sudden another TA came out which apparently caused this guy to jump in his car and speed off.

More and more I look at all these cases, it seems to me we are looking in all the wrong places for the killer. In fact, I think the killer is right in front of us. . . its name is alcohol.
The only common denominator in all these deaths, is that the young people were out drinking with friends, many times binge drinking and then made poor decisions to walk home alone, usually through or into a body of water. (Obviously, not all of the deaths involved binge drinking, but the majority of them did).
Are some of these cases suspicious? Were some of the people murdered or kidnapped, maybe? All too often, many of these young people simply drank too much and became disoriented. It is no surprise to me that many of the drownings/deaths occurred in the Upper Midwest where lakes are prevalent and many colleges are right next to major rivers.

look at the patterns. and you dont just wander into a lake, drown in a couple feet of water, and "slip" under the ice the way all these people do.
You're right. Cyclonefanatics, we must band together to rid the world of this terrible alcohol. We must drink it all before it kills our children. Who's with me?
