I have a buddy that is a GA at Kansas State. K-State plays Kansas on Wed. on ESPN, and Vitale is calling the game. He called ahead to the KSU athletic department and demanded that he was given a locker room instead of getting ready on the media truck like other coordinators. Apparently K-State has limited locker room space, and put Vitale in the locker room KU was supposed to be in, and moved KU to a media room. Kind of funny that KU got relegated to a media room because of Vitale, but non-the-less shows how big of a tool that guy is.

He couldn't do one ISU-KU or ISU-OU/TEX match-ups when we were ranked in the T10 in '00 and '01 as well. Too good for us. F-him.

If I was KSU I'd block off a corner of the men's bathroom with velvet ropes then escort him to his stall and tell him they'd place a guy outside the door so no one bothers him. :biglaugh:

sorry - I'm calling bulls hit on that. There's no way KSU is giving vitale the visitor's locker room. They might be kicking some kansas staff from an auxiliary locker room, but there's no way in hell dukie v is getting the visitor locker room to himself.

Remember- This is KU. KSU may make an exception for this game. I hate Vitale but that would be too funny.

I'll have to tune into this game at Kansas State to get the latest updates from **** on how Duke is doing this year, how good they were in the past with the greats like Laettner, Hill, Boozer, and Hurley, as well as how good they are going to be with the incoming recruiting classes.

I thought it was strange too, but my friend has no reason to lie to me about it. He is really not looking forward to it because he is responsible for escorting the visiting around the arena, and he knows how much Bill and the Boys will whine about it.

Vitale wouldn't be happy until he has someone to wipe for him

Can't wait till the NCAA tourney comes around and I no longer have to hear him call games.

Saying that he actually calls games is giving him way too much credit; he spends most of his time talking about anything but the game at hand. That is one of my peeves; he does not focus on the game in front of him, but some other past or future--take your pick--game he is more excited about. But it is when he rants about yet another "diaper-dandy," who is "notorious," that is when I turn the volume off: too many cliches and misused words for me--second peeve. Someone should tell the guy that "notorious" means bad reputation as opposed to "fame," which means good.

Why would this make US hate Dicky V more? I think it's hilarious, put KU in the electrical closet!

I met Dickie V at the 2000 Final Four. He was very nice and a lot of fun, visiting with the Badger fans there. We had some coffee and yucked it up about the games, the Detroit days, etc. He couldn't have represented ESPN better. And it was just a happenstance meeting in the hall outside our Badger red adorned room, not a function he was obligated to do.

I'll never forget it.

Bobby Knight is the color guy for the KU/Mizzou Big Monday game tonight. I love listening to him do games. He breaks the game down so well, without hype, and calls it like he sees it. If you do a stupid shot or pass, he's not afraid to call you out. Likewise, he really complements great plays, especially smart ones, and puts the praise where it belongs.

Actually Orr mandated that Vitale not be allowed in Hilton and I think it just stuck.
YouTube - Orr tells Vitale off
Love Coach Orr. That man knew it all. He was a great coach and if you ever met him on the street he was a great. Always great to hear Vitale get his *** reamed. Thanks for the video.
On a side note Iowa State needs to do something to get the court at Hilton named after Johnny Orr. It would be great to hear "live from Johnny Orr court at Hilton Coliseum."

This can't be. **** Vitale just loves the college game. It's not like he's an egomaniac. Certainly he would never do anything to take attention away from the game and put focus on himself. :jimlad:

If ever a name fit a man....****!
