Ohio St 25th? After Troy Smith and Maurice Clarett they are top 10 for sure. But you are a big 10 fan so you can't put them to high!

You could just go to the database of major infractions (https://web1.ncaa.org/LSDBi/exec/miSearch). I've tried to weed out the non-Div I schools. This is for infractions that involved football (could have also involved other sports).

when/what was our major infraction?
Go to the website I linked and type "Iowa State University" in the institution name. There is a public report available for download. The summary is:

Date: December 19, 1986

Violation Summary: Improper entertainment and transportation; extra benefits; out-of-season practice; improper recruiting entertainment, inducements, lodging and transportation; tryouts; eligibility; unethical conduct; coaching staff limitations; institutional control; certification of compliance.

Penalty Summary: Maximum of 26 initial grants for 1987-88; annual reports regarding compliance programs; terminated employment of head coach; disassociated local motel for one year.

Reggie Bush was paid $300,000 his last year at USC and there are 10 programs dirtier than that? I would also put EIU in the Top 25. What ever happened to Phil Jones and Marcus Mills? Most likely they were paid a hefty sum to keep their mouths shut in their wrongful termination lawsuits. Early retirement for being the scapegoats.

To boil our infraction down. An assistant coach cheated. He sucked as a football coach so coach fired. The assistant got ****** and actually ratted himself out. Letting the NCAA know he cheated as an ISU coach. Thus we got put on probatoin.

USC(1) needs to be higher...
The U(2) and Florida St.(4) are some kind of dirty.. they're in the top 5
Iowa(9) for all it's criminal mischief...
Ohio St(3).... Maurice Clarett gets them in the top 10 just on his own...
Oklahoma(5) is bad... they're top 10 material
Tennesse(6)... Lane Kiffin will do anything to succeed...
Auburn(8)... their coach gets them onto the list for sure...
Virginia Tech(7)... for all it's criminal mischief and the Vick boys...
Colorado(10)... they had a player rape another player... that's all sorts of dirty... even if she was a girl...

That was when Criner was HC. We cheated and we still were awful.

Oh come on, the resident iowa apologists on this message board have repeatedly assured us that nothing was swept under the rug in that little incident.

actually clones85, I will never cheer for tOSU and if I was given one free kill, JT would be one of the potential candidates. The reason I didn't put them that high is they never had that "attitude" that Miami of 20 years ago did.
