Re: 16-15!

I think this team can turn it around. I expect a damn hard game against Texas to start big 12 play. Would be nice to kick em to the curb right away and create some momentum.

I thought it was interesting to note how statistical analysis called our starting center "nearly invisible."

Re: 16-15!

I don't think it is that far out, based on strength of Big 12. Ten non-conference wins is what I think, which would mean 6 conference wins. K-State, A&M, Tech are all stronger than what I thought. At this point, and based on the state of the team, I think 16-18 wins is likely. Obviously, teams can get better during the season.

some people on this board will be happy for a winning record because we "need to support our coach" and that we need to "trust JP and GMAC process"

The swing is the 7 losses by 8 or less points...that is where we can change a season. Win the close ones and you are at 23-8, 25-10 with the even closer games. Unfortunately we havent shown we can win those this year

At this point in time it is hard to tell what will happen to the Clones. I think this team is capable of playing much better basketball than we have seen so far. Will the team play to it's potential? I don't know and either does anyone else. I do agree about the invisible center part. The center play to this point in the season has been horrible, especially on the offensive and rebounding parts of the game. Ham has been very disappointing so far.

The way this team is playing right now, 16 or 17 wins is what I'd say. We have more talent than 16-17 wins but right now it's not clicking for whatever reason. It's almost like Wayne Morgan's NCAA tourney year when they started off slow. You knew they had talent but things didn't click early on. Once they got on a roll, they were a legit top 20 team. I could see this team having a similar "run" in them and sneaking in the NCAA's. The next three weeks will be critical.

I saw this on Sunday. I think it's a little low because the projections are skewed from the small sample size. The projections will change as the year goes on because it just adds the probabilities of winning games together. For example, if we beat Duke, those projections will change and we'll likely be up to around 20 wins.

If I had to guess personally, just eye test, I think we'll win more than 16. Not many more but more. I love Pomeroy though and I will defend his metrics because I think they are very good and consistently accurate.
