Surprised, actually. UNI was good in the first half (+10) but I didn't pay much attention to how they lost the lead. No inside game from the announcer's take. 60-52. DePaul was 9-24 last year.

Depaul has Nyal "Mac" Koshwal. He almost came to Iowa State. Dude is freaking good.

Never thought UNI was that good to begin with. I understand they had all their starters back but the media was making it sound like they were in position to be a top 20 team. They probably still should have beaten DePaul though. Looks like our opponents have no concerns with helping us keep a strong RPI.

They shot crazy-bad in the 2nd half ... they started out shooting like 8/12 from 3-land and ended the game 9/24

Good for Drake, I think they will get better, esp. of Josh gets healthy. That kid from Michigan can shoot, not like the kid from Germany, but still a pretty nice shot.

Killer loss for the Missouri Valley.

Hard to justify a stronger year for the conference when your best team loses to a Big East team that went 0-fer last year in conference.

Yea too bad this one game will decide how the conference looks the rest of the year. And I like Creighton to win the Valley this year.

9/24 = 38% from 3-point range = not bad

Teams that rely heavily on the 3-point shot will have very inconsistent results. That's why I love the fact that have a serious inside game as well as a serious outside game - pick your poison!

They fell in love with the '3' in the first half and got left at the alter by it in the 2nd half.

Yeah, bad loss for the Panthers and a very disappointing result (I'm a dual fan, got my degree from UNI in '97). It's only the 2nd game of the season, so hopefully DePaul will go on to have a good season and UNI can recover quickly and easily.

I don't know what to think about Jordan Eglseder. He can put up some dominant numbers in some games and then absolutely disappear in other games. I would really like to see some consistency out of him for once.
