Need A Used Car

So I got my license back the other day and now need to start looking for a car because the new job I got pretty requires it. I dont want to spend anything over 2500. Are there any good websites or...places that are reliable? My last car a 1998 Grand Prix would seem reliable but just gave me trouble. I live in the Storm Lake area. Anything would help. Thanks.

My best advice is to latch on to a Ford Taurus, Buick Century, or Buick LeSabre. They are nothing special but are dependable transportation for a rock bottom price. You probably do not want to attract attention anyway. I would look at New & Used Cars for Sale, Auto Dealers, Car Reviews and Car Finance Advice for one or the for sale by owner ads in your local newspaper.

I'd be concerned about transmission reliability with an older Taurus.

I've been looking for a used car as well. Driving around town and craigslist have been very helpful for me to at least find cars I can afford and/or want. I just need to find a trusty mechanic in Altoona/Des Moines

I second the craigslist suggestion. Lot of deals out there to be had especially if you're mechanically inclined at all so you can check them over pretty well.

One more reason I think we should have a "classifieds" section here. I've been trying to sell a truck for more than a month, and would love to network with some fanatics.
