Tradition of turmoil

I read this article in the daily and thought it was a pretty crazy story. We must have been pretty bad in football in 1953 to go this crazy after a win. I assume none of you were involved, but anyone's parents or grandparents? I think ISU students deserve a day off when we finally get another conference win!

The story is apart of their 10 things you might now know about Iowa State.

10 things you might not know about Iowa State

They also had a 12 defining moments story:
12 defining moments in cyclone sports history (1990-2009)

He tried to say he would recommend giving a holiday the Monday after the next football victory, but multiple students shouted out, “We may not win another one,â€￾ and the crowd marched off.

It's not what they said that I found funny, it's the way they said it! :biglaugh: I'm just imagining thousands of students throwing down their monocles and declaring their indignation with the president.

I don't recommend anyone doing a sit down protest at the Highway 30 and Highway 69 intersection these days.

Re: The 12 Defining moments article -

How could they not include the 1996 victory over Kansas for the final Big 8 MBB championship??

Not that I think beating Iowa is a big deal, but I think it would be fun to have the Monday after the Iowa game be a university holiday (win or lose cause you still booze).
