Yep the rest will move on to mid major or lower programs for the same money. I AGREE, those others in some cases would have been recruited over even if they stayed. Little money and playing time is better than little money and no playing time.

I’ve actually become a big fan, but you have to suspend reality a little bit. No matter how good they are, they are going to miss a lot of layups, they’re going to go through slumps where they can’t throw it in the ocean, and I mean all of them, I don’t care how good a shooter they are or aren’t, and you have to remember they play below the rim and they also throw the ball away a lot…. team wide

I just read an article by Tommy Birch in the DM Register. It said that Fennelly and Pollard have declined comment.
Because there could be legal matters involved: settlement, payout etc.
Also, there is a matter of face saving: whether some people like it or not, BF has been a good ambassador for Iowa State. Announcing his retirement now would be viewed as “forced to retire due to players mutiny” or something like that. BF probably wouldn’t like that.
Could be that JP is looking for and interviewing candidates.
I don’t think JP is that oblivious that he did not talking to players transferring about their reasons and also with existing players to understand their concerns. There must be a lot of things happening behind the scenes. That is not how JP operates.
Also if you announce that BF is retiring now, I don’t think it will change the minds of players who have announced their intent to transfer or haven’t announced yet but would transfer. The decisions have been made but not just announced yet.
After listening to the Beat Reporters podcast, I'm convinced that either Pollard or the women's bb coaches told media not to say anything negative about the coaching. That, or they are completely tone-deaf about the program and how fans feel. They dance around the topic, mentioning the mass exodus, and somehow can't get to the likely reasoning behind it.
Fennelly will be back next season, and it will be another disaster.
I wonder if there are conversations happening with Bill, JP, and maybe even a new coach? Maybe she's waiting to hear that decision?
That's an optimistic take. It's also possible she's out doing visits, too...
My guess is she has an agent that is taking bids and just hasn't dropped the gavel and said "sold" yet. What I don't know is if ISU is one of the bidders.
