WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

I wouldn't read into that either way. I for one thing Audi is gone and is currently sorting through offers, then will go in with a no contact tag like Addy.
Agreed she is probs gone. Honestly really interested to see how a different coach will utilize her and how she fits into another (supposedly) solid program.

I would hope that athletic dept folks above Fennelly are contacting these players about why they heading out.
Especially why Addy, Jada, and others with minutes are leaving.
Money and hopes if winning/playing for championships in the last go around. Really not that hard to figure out. As others gave said maybe they don't like the coaching Staff.

She us what she is, Major Down low force on Offense, major liability on defense. I do not see that changing whether at Iowa State or elsewhere.

Alisa Williams is gone.
I keep track of who the coaches are following on twitter and instagram to help me with the recruiting lists. After either the regular season finale or the Big 12 tournament loss (don't recall which) the 3 or 4 ISU coaches who were following Alisa on instagram suddenly weren't followers anymore. Since I doubt they all decided to unfollow her at the exact same time (with the season still going on), I'm assuming she removed/blocked all of them as followers.

I didn't mention it at the time in case I was misinterpreting the situation, but clearly something went down.

I think it's MORE about the latter.
The latter is just the push they need to make the move when offered the cash.

Jada, Audi and Addy will each cash huge payday and the promise to be part of a winning championship team. That is ultimately why they are leaving.

In regards to Jada, she seemed to not have any beef with the staff a short week ago when she paused and thanked them for helping her find the love for basketball again after her stint at Arizona.

Everyone is so quick to blanket CBF the bad guy when it is simply not the case with all these transfers.

As Jerry Mguire said ..... SHOW ME THE MONEY

Hypothetical. You're a good team close to being great. Do you want Audi? You will completely have to change your style of play, defense and tempo. zdisrupt current chemistry for a one year player......... We love her as a local girl and she has done so much for the sport but if she wasn't that and just a one year rental??

I wouldn't necessarily blame other RevShare/NIL opportunities as the ultimate reason for their departures. They were all on the ISU roster in a Pre-House environment with unlimited pay for play and NIL for the 2025-26.

In a Post-House environment for 2026-27, those opportunities are not going to be as available and that was noted in Post #682 of this thread.

While other RevShare/NIL opportunities will certainly exist for all 3 players due to their talents, blaming their departures solely or even primarily on that is misplaced. ISU was not going to outbid some other programs but if they were committed to Bill and his staff in similar fashion to what ISU MBB players are to Otz and his staff, the odds of them staying for another year are significantly increased.

Jada was truly 50/50 on coming back. The money she was offered was more than our whole rev share. All conference players in wbb are going to get what role players get in mbb. The market skyrocketed.

Anyone can theorize a hundred different things, and all of them are probably some part. But an underwritten one for me is probably a simple one: a lack of success. Everyone wants to compete and the chance to, at minimum win a Big 12 championship and plausibly make a Sweet 16. We haven't even sniffed one since Emily put up a career high against Stanford. Did a lot of them look in the mirror and ask, "What could be different next year that we didn't already try?" And the answer was...nothing? I can't blame anyone for looking at it that way because it is probably accurate 9 times out of 10.

If they all came back next year and expected anything to be different they would be crazy

We have numerous cases in MBB the past few years where players have taken less money than what was on offer elsewhere to stay, presumably because they like the program/coaches.

Whelp, tomorrow is Trash Day in terms of the news cycle. This is usually when the worse news gets dropped after 5pm on Fridays when no one is paying too close attention, plus with the Men’s game tomorrow night it’s too perfect of a trash day for Bill/AD to drop the Audi news and few people will catch it or pay attention. And they’ve been timing one per 24 hours, so guessing Audi’s comes tomorrow

Rich people money with money to waste is such a weird market. There are only ~30 schools with attendance of over 3k, yet somehow, they find money to pay players a million dollars.

Do we really know that? There was talk that LSU offered Jefferson more than ISU and ISU raised what it was paying Jefferson. And at the time I recall it was posted that ISU also upped payments to Lipsey & Momcilovic so that they were getting comparable money.

Think we are seeing an growing dynamic where Big12 womens basketball programs are finding it more difficult to compete nationally. Just looking at the Womens Sweet 16:
  • ACC - 5 teams
  • Big East - 1 team
  • Big 10 - 3 teams
  • Big 12 - 1 team
  • SEC - 6 teams
The Big10 & SEC teams have the budgets to pay WBB players more House/NIL money than a school like ISU. And due to geography of talented players and coaches ACC schools have distanced themselves from Big12.

At a time when Big12 men's basketball has been able to establish itself as a conference that can compete against the best Big10 & SEC teams. That hasn't been the case with Big12 womens hoops. So if players like Audi, Addy, Jada and Reece want to compete against the best teams/players then the SEC/Big10 & ACC look attractive to current ISU players.
