*** Official Tennessee State vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Otz kept his guys in to get more time together and create more chemistry without Jefferson on the court. He is preparing the team to be at their best.
At that point in the game, there is no chemistry to be made…. it’s a men’s ymca league night game at that point…. up and down, no plays, no defense…. but as we saw several players going down with injuries…. because of all the chaos. It was dumb, but luckily we got away with it. You would agree had Lipsey or Milan gotten injured in that playground game at the end.

No matter how much you complain about it you aren't going to change Otz's strategy in blowouts, sorry dude.

I know opponent needs to be taken into account by 108 points without your best player is pretty damn impressive
And Tamin scored 3! The next week will tell us, but we appear to be one of those hot tourney teams right now. We are playing our best at the right time. No JJ will certainly limit us, but I just don’t see us losing to KY.

All the guys really stepped up today!

Heise played aggressively and when he does that, he goes a long way toward offsetting Jefferson’s missing points.

Huge game by Buchanan, I think his line was 11 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.

Bateman, Pleta and Nelson all had big games too.

You’re seems to instinctively rise when someone goes out, awesome to see him back to early season form

Toure and Heise are such x-factors - if they can continue playing like the did today, we'll be fine against Kentucky.

I also think Tennessee handles Virginia in the other matchup

He needs to give all these new lineups "practice" time.

No problem with doing that.

Practice is for practice though!

And why doesn't the bench get more time at the end of early season bye games to practice together!??

Great win, but damn, just when you think we can go a long ways, we lose one of our best players. We didn't need Jefferson today, but can we get by Kentucky on Sunday if he doesn't; play is totally different.

Lipsey got injured in a tight game last week.

Just let it go and be OK with TJ being successful for once.

I figured ISU would whither down and have a terrible horrible thing happen and am glad I was wrong.

You don’t think I know that? You really think I believe Otz is listening to some nobody on a message board? I sure hope he doesn’t.

It’s still dumb though. I will die someday still believing that. Would all of you be saying that “building some chemistry” in a meaningless ending of a game was worth it had we lost Lipsey or Milan? Easily could have happened. Those guys were kinda dirty too…. guys were going down all over the place.

I doubt I’ll change anyone’s mind on here…. it is what it is. We got away with it thankfully. Move on.
