I think all y'all expecting these conference tourneys to affect NCAA tourney seeding may be setting yourselves up for disappointment.
I agree. But I think iowa state was already the bottom 2 seed going into the conference tourney. Nothing has happened that would slide us down. Maybe we move up to 7th instead of 8th overall if we win tonight. Certainly Illinois losing is nice though. For the most part, the bed has been made.

I know we have a lot of iowa state connections on North Texas, but one of my kids attends Tulsa, so I'm rooting for them.

Although he doesn't care about sports at all so not sure why I care either

I think the games today could/might have some bearing on it. The next two days not so much.

That Illinois loss really took the pressure off tonight IMO. Sure, we are playing for a B12 championship, but the bigger prize was trying to lock up a 2 seed.

Always an interesting take especially this year, but seems to be a common one.

This year the difference between a 2/3 seed is pretty small. It’s kinda a jumble of about 6-8 teams that is way more about matchups

From the sweet 16 forward, totally agree. But getting a 15 instead of a 14, then a potential 7 instead of a 6, makes the path to the sweet 16 a slight bit easier.

I think there’s a big difference between what happened 2 years ago and what happened this year. The way ISU dominated that tournament and spanked Houston for the cherry on top, we were all hoping that might fuel us to jump a couple of teams to steal the final #1 seed, and numerous bracketologists toyed with the idea, which really got our hopes up… but not only did we not get the #1 in the end, we didn’t move up at all (thanks, ACC douchebags, who made our conference SOS to be a “bad thing” that the talking heads latched onto).

This year, though, you have three teams with similar records, similar resumes, with similar backslides heading into their conference tournaments, fighting for the two remaining 2 seeds. In this scenario, logically, conference tournament play will probably have some impact.

It’s BTN, all these announcers do is glaze the conference no matter who is playing or how the game looks.

About the farthest thing from an impartial or unbiased take you can get
Putting the bias aside, how do you B10 fans deal with the B10 network announcers/ production?

That was about as low-rent a production as I’ve seen for a major conference’s second round. Like I was watching the AAC. The evening session announcers seem better at least.

Agree to disagree as it’s more matchups than seeds but I get the logic behind it.

Also regardless of if a team is a 2 or a 3 getting to the sweet 16 is expected so that’s usually what I’m looks ahead too

Plus conference titles are awesome

Didn’t see the Illinois game so can’t speak to that but usually the better teams get the better crews/production. Usually it’s not to bad from a production standpoint but sometimes the announcers are feinbaum level homers which is just weird.

If you want to see some really funny production you should check out BTN+ sometimes, it’s legit an often just the students of the home schools media programs that are doing the work/announcing
