I agree, but we've seen some weird CFB bowl game situations.
Sonny Dykes coached SMU in the 2017 Frisco Bowl just days after being hired. Didn't go well. Louisiana Tech won 51-10
Larry Fedora (accepted UNC job, coached USM's bowl) and Matt Wells (Utah State, sent coordinators back) returned to coach their teams in bowl games after accepting new jobs or mid-transition.
For ISU, I have to believe it is a staffer who stays behind to coach it, either someone who is going to PSU with Campbell, but isn't needed there immediately or someone who Campbell doesn't have a spot for at PSU (PSU announced some of their coordinators would be staying so where does that leave ISU staffers with the same job?)
Are bowl projections primarily an excuse to troll? I think maybe so.
That would be a RIDICULOUS draw from literally every angle.
They are just Click generators, which are far more lucrative when they generate engagement in comments etc. Throwing controversial or just down right ridiculous picks in there generate more engagement than straight up realistic picks.

Sure, as a motivational speaker, but not as a coach. That's a wholly different relationship. Trotting him out to run X's & O's would be bad for him and the team.
Not shocked, but incredibly disappointed at this point. On to a MBB season that ends in Indianapolis! I’m done with FB after the events of the last 72 hours
As a fan this is really disappointing. You get asked to give more and more as a fan and in return you get less and less. This model is so broken.
Great point. We’ve commented for a while that the bowl system is broken. I think it’s time that any NIL contract and coach contract requires players to stay until the season concludes. This just feels gross.

All players and coaches should give money back. If I don't show up for work I don't get paid.

With it happening so close to Selection Sunday, the players are probably still going through the stages of grief and are too angry or depressed, so they wanted no part of it. I think most of us fans got to acceptance pretty quickly.
