I just bought a Midland WR-300 weather radio and I'm confused on something.

I entered the code for polk county
019153
But I thought there was a way to only receive specific alerts. For example, I thought I could make it so I only heard tornado warnings? Is this possible. I've read through the book but I don't see anything even though people on Amazon say this is a feature.

I believe this is what you need to do.

Defeat Siren Alert Option
To choose message types to be silenced press the MENU key and
the up or down arrow keys to find “DEFEAT SIRENâ€￾ displayed.
Press SELECT key and use up or down arrow keys to find the
event type you wish to silence. Press the left or right arrow key to
change the status of the event. The status is shown by the
“ALERT ENABLEâ€￾ or “ALERT DISABLEâ€￾ icons at the bottom
of the display. Press the up or down key to find another event
type or press MENU key to exit this function.

Thank you. I found it shorty after I posted this message. I'm going to leave Iceberg warning on just in case.:smile:

Being serious I think I will leave on the boil water and biological hazard message.

Considering the 500 year floods have been seemingly occuring every 3.5 years - that may be a good idea....

I have this radio as well. It's one of the better ones out there.

Living in the CR area, I heard two alert types in the middle of the night last summer that I thought I'd never hear: Civil Emergency Message and Immediate Evacuation Warning.
