REPORTS: Otzelberger gains raise in reworked contract

 Both the Ames Tribune and the Des Moines Register reported late this afternoon that T.J. Otzelberger will be the highest paid assistant on Coach Steve Prohm‘s ISU men’s basketball staff.

 Otzelberger — according to documents obtained by both the Tribune and the Register via open records requests — will receive a bump in pay of $45,000, raising his total annual compensation to $275,000.

 Otzelberger, according to documents Cyclone Fanatic and others obtained when he was brought back on Fred Hoiberg‘s staff in April, had originally been slated to make $230,000 a season. 

 The Tribune and the Register also reported the salaries of other Prohm assistants.

 Prohm’s top Murray State assistant, William Small, will make $235,000 a year, as will former Otzelberger colleague on Greg McDermott’s Cyclones staff, Daniyal Robinson.

 Micah Byars, whom Prohm kept on staff as the director of basketball operations, is set to make $130,000 this season.

 Neill Berry, whose title is "special assistant to the head coach," will receive $120,000 in annual pay, according to the ducuments.
