Iowa State missed out on an in-state junior college recruit on Monday afternoon.

Malik Dime, a 6-foot-10 center out of Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, chose Washington over Iowa State.

Dime had two connections to Washington that likely played a large role in his decision. Former Indian Hills player Quevyn Winters is now with the Huskies. Winters was recently recruited to Seattle by former Iowa State associate head coach T.J. Otzelberger, who also was Dime’s primary recruiter.

Iowa State has two scholarships open for its class of 2015.
