I’m going to throw some darts at the wall here and try to project what the starting lineup will look like for the men’s basketball exhibition opener next Monday against Black Hills State. PG – Diante Garrett – Not much of a question here. I really think that Chris Colvin will be the first guard off of the bench. Dominique Buckley should get quality minutes too. SG – Lucca Staiger – Scott Christopherson is good but Staiger is more seasoned. It’ll be fun to see how much Lucca’s game grew over the summer months.
SF – Marquis Gilstrap – Duh. PF – Craig Brackins – (See Gilstrap comment).
C – Justin Hamilton – He’s the best option that Coach McDermott has at the five. I anticipate that Laron Dendy will be the first big off of the bench for Iowa State.
