Per Iowa State Athletic Communications IRVING, Texas—Iowa State senior forward Marquis Gilstrap picked up his fourth Big 12 Rookie of the Week honor, announced today by the Big 12 Conference. He shared the award with Colorado’s Marcus Relphorde. Gilstrap won the award thanks to a week in which he averaged 17.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games against Texas and Nebraska. Gilstrap, a native of Covington, Ga., posted a double-double in his Big 12 debut vs. No. 1 Texas with 20 points and 13 rebounds. He followed that performance with his second-straight double-double in a 15-point, 12-rebound effort in ISU’s 56-53 win at Nebraska, helping the Cyclones erase a 16-game Big 12 road losing streak. Gilstrap leads the team in double-doubles with seven and ranks 56th nationally in rebounding at 8.9 rpg.
