Big 12 Media Days

It’s that time of year again as Big 12 Media Days is set to kick off next week in Frisco. While it’s no Jerry World, it’s still nice of Jerry to host the conference, especially since he’s an SEC guy,

Jake and Chris will be boots on the ground from the Star and there will be no shortage of storylines to go around. Of course, Texas Tech will be the talk of the town without Brendan Sorsby as Joey McGuire will have plenty of questions to answer about his football team.

Also, there are rumors swirling about Utah potentially going to the Big Ten. True? Or just something people have made up Beauce they get bored during the offseason. Either way, it’s something to keep an eye on.

With so many coaches and players in attendance, every team has something to prove and questions to answer. And as always, it’s facilitating to hear from our leader, Brett Yormark.

Recording Setting Draft

I didn’t get a chance to talk much about the NBA draft last week but the Big 12 had a total of 13 players selected in the first two rounds. It was the most from any conference and was actually a record for the Big 12 in more ways than one.

First off, the Big 12 had players taken with the first two picks thanks to AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson. That’s never happened before in the conference, and on top of that the Big 12 had nine first round picks, which was also a record.

It was the most Big 12 players taken in an NBA draft since 2010 and don’t expect the train to lose any momentum going forward. If you take a look at the 2027 mock drafts coming out, Kansas’ Tyran Stokes is projected to be the number one pick in next year’s draft.

Happy 250th America

One of my favorite holidays is the fourth of July. Between the fireworks, the food, friends and family, it is truly one of a kind. Plus, it’s my anniversary so it has to be my favorite holiday of the year.

But to be alive when America is celebrating its 250th year of Freedom is pretty cool. I don’t know if I will be alive for 300 so why not go all out this year? I am actually taking my family to a baseball game this year (Go Stros) but no matter where you are, enjoy yourself and be safe. We truly live in the greatest country in the world and every day is blessing. Happy fourth everyone!
