The South Point sports book threw up some new point spreads for the 2017 college football season on Thursday.

All in all, I see this as good news for Iowa State. The sports book has the Cyclones as a mere 3-point underdog to Texas in its Big 12 opener on Thursday night, Sept. 28.

That game will also be the Big 12 debut for new Texas head coach and former Iowa State offensive coordinator Tom Herman.

Texas went 5-7 (3-6) last year and fired then head coach Charlie Strong. The Longhorns beat Iowa State 27-6.
