The following is a press release from Iowa State Athletics Communications:

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head coach T.J. Otzelberger and Purdue head coach Matt Painter have announced the two teams will begin a home-and-home series next season. The 2025 game will be played at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind., while the 2026 game will be played at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

Both teams are currently ranked in the Top 10 in the country in the AP Poll, with the Boilermakers coming in at No. 7 and the Cyclones at No. 10. The series will bring a home game to two of the toughest places to play in the country in Mackey Arena and Hilton Coliseum.

The Cyclones and Boilermakers have met five times previously, with four of those games coming on a neutral floor. The two teams met for the first time in 1987, a 104-96 Cyclone victory in West Lafayette. The two teams have also met in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas and Milwaukee. The last meeting came in 2017, as the two teams squared off in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee.

Exact dates for the games will be announced at a later time.
