Iowa State wide receivers coach Noah Pauley has been interviewed for the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive coordinator position.

The 49ers confirmed the news, as is required by league rules, in a social media post.

Pauley joined Iowa State’s staff at the beginning of the 2023 season, after being hired away from the same position at North Dakota State.

He began his career as a student assistant, and later was promoted to a graduate assistant as well as the offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach, at Minnesota Duluth.

In 2024, Pauley coached Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins each to 1,000+-yard seasons while the Cyclones finished 11-3 (7-2) with a win in the Pop Tarts Bowl over No. 13 Miami.

Pauley was on staff at North Dakota State during 49ers quarterback Trey Lance’s career in Fargo.
