RECRUITING: New WR commit Milan Parris on his choice to pick Iowa State

Iowa State landed its fifth commitment to the 2026 recruiting class Sunday in wide receiver Milan Parris. He was one of the prospects on campus over the weekend for the program’s first slate of junior days – with the second coming next week.

The Snow, Ohio prospect out of Walsh Jesuit High School was expecting big things after how Iowa State had been recruiting him since the season ended.

“It was great,” Parris said. “The hospitality was awesome – I mean, I expected it to be very good just based off of the love that Coach (Matt) Campbell and Coach (Noah) Pauley have shown me the past couple of weeks coming to the school. Everybody was very welcoming and they showed love to my mom, and that’s very important, too.”

Parris is rated as the No. 96 wideout in the country and the No. 24 prospect out of Ohio by 247 Sports. He had 597 yards on 28 receptions with 9 touchdowns during his junior season.

Parris has the Ohio-area cookie cutter offer sheet of many prospects that Campbell and his staff have gone after since he arrived in Ames.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect chose the Cyclones over Cincinnati, Kentucky, Purdue, Wisconsin, USF, Ball State, Central Michigan, Kent State, Ohio, Marshall and UMass.

“(Saturday) was my grandpa’s birthday,” Parris said. “He passed away last year. I just thought it was God talking to me – or him – telling me that the time was right. I’ve wanted to get the process over with, I just didn’t know who to trust or where I wanted to be. Iowa State just felt like the place. The culture – everything – was just right. It reminded me of the school I’m at right now – Walsh Jesuit. So, it just fit.”

Parris becomes the second commitment to the class at the wide receiver position, joining Ames’ Jeffrey Roberts as future players for wide receivers coach Noah Pauley.

“He’s great,” Parris said. “He’s a very cool guy. He’s very personnable. He’s very cool with my mom and he’s been good. We’re always talking about stuff whether it’s school, sports, or my family, it’s always good.”

Iowa State’s class is now rated as the No. 34 class in the country by 247 Sports.

“It just felt like home,” Parris said. “I knew it was right like, as soon as I got in the car after my meeting with (the coaches). I just knew it felt right.”
