Iowa State Cyclones quarterback Rocco Becht (3) runs with the ball for a first down around Kansas State Wildcats safety Marques Sigle (21) and linebacker Austin Romaine (45) during the fourth quarter in the NCAA football at Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, in Ames, Iowa.
Iowa State came in at No. 16 in the latest edition of the CFP Rankings, one spot behind its Big 12 championship game opponent, No. 15 Arizona State (Sat. 11 a.m. ABC).
The Cyclones are one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the penultimate poll.
BYU is ranked No. 18 and Colorado is just behind them at No. 23.
The winner of Saturday’s Big 12 championship game is guaranteed a spot in the playoff, which will likely be the conference’s only bid.
