Kyle Konrardy missed the first field goal he had attempted in his college career on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium, but he made the one he needed to in Iowa State’s 20-19 win over No. 21 Iowa.
The redshirt freshman out of Dubuque split the uprights on a 54-yard field goal with nine seconds remaining in the game to give his team the win.
Iowa State’s Jaylin Noel caught a punt to set up his team’s final drive of the game with 29 seconds remaining.
Two plays later, Noel was streaking down the sidelines with the ball, eventually being tackled at the 38-yard line.
After tight end Ben Brahmer was tackled inside the boundary on the ensuing play, quarterback Rocco Becht spiked the ball and the Cyclones elected to kick it.
The win is Iowa State’s second straight victory at Kinnick Stadium.
After a bye week, Iowa State will return to the field to face Arkansas State at Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday, September 21 (1:00 p.m. ESPN+).
