The former fourth round draft pick has played the entirety of his career with the Minnesota Vikings but was cut from the team before the start of the 2024 NFL season.
Nwangwu also had a short stint with the New Orleans Saints but reportedly failed a physical and was put back on waivers.
The All-Pro kick returner will join three former Cyclones – DE Will McDonald, WR Allen Lazard, and RB Breece Hall – on the Jets team.
New York opens up their season against Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers tonight at 7:15 p.m. for Monday Night Football on ESPN and ABC.
