WBB: Iowa State earns commitment from 2025 point guard Reese Beaty

Iowa State earned its second commitment to the 2025 recruiting class on Tuesday in Tennessee point guard Reese Beaty.

Beaty chose Iowa State over a number of high major programs after coming on a visit to the school in June.

The Tennessee native decommitted from Clemson in March due to a coaching change within the program.

She committed to Iowa State over offers from TCU, West Virginia, Colorado, Auburn, Cal, Marquette, Michigan, Pitt, Penn State, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Missouri, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, Cleveland State, Penn and Harvard.

Beaty played for Kentucky Premier on the Nike EYBL circuit, and played in Des Moines earlier in the summer where she averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game according to On3 Sports.

Iowa State hopes Beaty can pick up where star point guard Emily Ryan leaves after her final year on the court.

As Ryan departs, Arianna Jackson will slot in at the position, and it could provide a similar bridge to Beaty as she plays her freshman season in Ames in the 2025-26 season.

Iowa State’s scholarship chart now contains 13 players set to be in Ames and under scholarship for Beaty’s freshman season. These are always subject to change, so keep that in mind, but the program now has two open scholarships for next year’s roster.
