Cyclones in the NFL: Hall scores again, suffers injury per reports

Welcome to Week 7 of our Cyclones In The NFL Tracker. A former Cyclone scored a touchdown once again, but it was a somber Sunday night for the diehards. Here’s everything that went down.

Breece Hall trotted out into the open field in the Jets-Broncos game in what was one of the few bright spots for New York fans in a 16-9 win over Denver.

He rushed for 62 yards, scoring for the fourth-straight week as the NFL’s top rookie through seven games on the field.

Hall finished the game with four carries for 72 yards, but reportedly suffered a serious knee injury in the game that could sideline him for an extended amount of time.

Hall tweeted after the game addressing the team’s win and also posted a ‘fingers crossed’ emoji in a later tweet about the potential of an injury.

Hall will reportedly get an MRI on Monday.

As far as a potential replacement for Hall with the Jets’ recent success, David Montgomery’s name is being floated around.

The running back and former Cyclone is set to become a free agent next year and the NFL trade deadline comes next week.

Montgomery and the Bears are slated against the New England Patriots for tonight’s Monday Night Football game. If the Jets are serious about a trade, look for Montgomery to play less snaps than normal.

Allen Lazard was also hurt during the Green Bay Packers’ 23-21 loss to Washington. Lazard caught six passes for 55 yards before leaving the game early with a shoulder injury.

Brock Purdy made his first NFL completion during ‘garbage time’ in the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to Kansas City.

Purdy led a drive down the field, and although it ended with an interception, he completed two passes for 20 yards on the drive and didn’t look too out of place.

A.J. Klein (Ravens) and Enyi Uwazurike (Broncos) were both inactive on Sunday and Kene Nwangwu (Vikings) and Jake Hummel (Rams) were each on bye weeks.
