Iowa State’s 2022 win total opens at 7.5

Iowa State’s over/under win total for the 2022 college football season is here.

Bet Rivers released its Cyclone win total on Tuesday, setting the number at 7.5 wins for Matt Campbell’s squad this fall. Betting the over will get you +125 odds (bet $100 to win $125) while taking the under gets -159 (bet $100 to win $62.89).

Our Chris Williams and Brent Blum went game-by-game to make their win total predictions for the season during this podcast over the weekend.

That number of 7.5 might seem high when you consider Iowa State has to replace numerous key contributors on both sides of the football, including its starting quarterback, All-American tailback, starting center, and both of its tight ends on offense, plus an All-American linebacker, another starting linebacker, two key defensive linemen and multiple key secondary pieces on defense.

The Cyclones went under on their preseason win total of nine (or 9.5 depending on the book) last season, finishing with a disappointing 7-6 record after one of the most hype-filled offseasons in program history.
