Recruiting Roundup: Cyclones in pair of top 4’s, extend 24 offers over week

What’s up guys – it’s been a heck of a week around here. If you don’t follow me on Twitter or know about our motorsports website – Always Race Day, I had a 14-hour drive to cover a race in Tennessee. Anyways, this is the kind of stuff that made me think up this end-of-week roundup and it came through perfectly today:

Saturday, April 23
Indianapolis ATH Aycen Stevens puts Iowa State in his top 4:

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect in the 2023 class intends on playing linebacker at the collegiate level. He originally planned on releasing a top three, but included a fourth school when he revealed his the group on Twitter:

Monday, April 25
Iowa State staff was in Florida conducting visits to high schools:

Different members of Iowa State’s staff visited multiple Florida high schools on Monday. Offers given out of the visits can be seen at the bottom of this blog.

Tuesday, April 26
Cyclones host 2025 DL on visit: Iowa State brought in Tyson Terry, a 6-foot-2 2025 defensive lineman, on a visit this week as the young prospect toured a couple of different schools.

Terry holds five offers already, coming from Iowa State, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State and Minnesota.

Wednesday, April 27
Bryce Lovett announces commitment date: Iowa State is in the top 4 for three-star tackle Bryce Lovett. He will announce his choice between Iowa State, Florida, Missouri and Louisville on Monday, May 16.

Iowa State extended __ offers this week – we’re putting them all here:

George Burhenn, a 6-foot-5 three-star tight end, received his third scholarship offer from the Cyclones. Other schools to offer the 2023 prospect include Nevada and Air Force.

Iowa State became the second school to offer 2024 prospect Jesse Watson on Monday. The Cyclones join Nebraska in offers extended to the 5-foot-11 wideout.

Marlon McClendon, a 2023 Florida defensive back Iowa State visited Monday, announced his offer on Tuesday. He holds offers from Colorado State, Indiana, East Carolina, and Tulane among others.

Joe Jackson, a three-star ATH out of the 2023 class, was another prospect Iowa State extended an offer to while in Florida. Jackson has 15 FBS program offers including Louisville, Pittsburgh, UCF, USF and more.

Iowa State extended an offer to JUCO inside offensive lineman Cooper Lovelace this week. The 6-foot-5 product played his first collegiate seasons at Butler CC in Kansas. He’s been offered by Kansas, Louisiana and Kent State among others.

Solomon Williams, a 6-foot-3 linebacker/defensive end, earned his third scholarship offer from Iowa State. The Cyclones join USF and Rhode Island as other programs to extend offers.

Iowa State became the fourth program to offer 2024 Florida wideout Andrew Brinson IV. The 6-foot-2 wideout holds offers from USF, West Virginia and Army as well.

AJ Burton, a three-star 2024 offensive tackle out of Colorado, picked up an Iowa State offer this week. It’s early for the prospect rated as the fifth best player in his class out of Colorado, but the Cyclones join Colorado State as the lone offers for Burton.

In a similar move, Iowa State offered 2024 offensive tackle Hayden Treter, a 6-foot-6, 300-pounder out of the Colorado joining CSU as the lone offers.

Iowa State joined Purdue this week on being the first schools to offer 2025 quarterback Ethan Plumb. The Illinois prospect stands at 6-foot-3 and still has years to grow.

Iowa State extended an offer to a 2025 Florida wide receiver/safety in DJ Pickett – joining nearly 40 other programs that have reached out to the high school freshman. Pickett does not yet have a rating, however Alabama, Georgia, Florida, UCF and Texas among others have offered.

Caleb Benning, a 2024 ATH out of Omaha, picked up his fifth offer in Iowa State. The Cyclones join Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and Vanderbilt. He’s rated as the No. 2 prospect out of the state in his class.

Chalil Cummings, a 2024 Florida ATH, announced that Iowa State had become the sixth program to offer him. Michigan State, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh and Troy had offered previously.

Iowa State became the second school to offer 2025 Florida defensive end/outside linebacker Cameron White. They join West Virginia has schools to offer.

Tyler J. Williams, a 2025 Florida wide receiver, announced that the Cyclones became the first FBS program to offer him this week. The 6-foot-2 product was part of the visits Iowa State’s staff conducted in the state.

Jarvis Boatwright Jr., a highly touted 2024 ATH prospect out of Florida as well, received his 10th scholarship offer from Iowa State. UCF, Georgia, Kentucky, USF, and Duke have all offered among others.

Iowa State offered 2025 running back Donovan Johnson this week, joining UCF, Georgia, Florida State, Arkansas, Boston College, Coastal Carolina and Virginia Tech.

Tampa Catholic’s Xavier Porter, a 6-foot-4 defensive end, announced Iowa State had offered him this week. He’s rated as a higher three-star prospect and holds offers from UCF, Florida State, NC State, Louisville, Ball State, Marshall and Florida Atlantic.

Iowa State joined Florida A&M in offering Jerome Carter III this week. Carter III is a 2024, 6-foot-1 safety.

Jake Merklinger, a four-star 6-foot-3 2024 quarterback, added Iowa State to his offer sheet this week. The Cyclones join UCF, Cincinnati, Michigan State Louisville, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest to extend an offer to the No. 13 rated quarterback nationally in his class.

Kendall Jackson, a 2024 Florida defensive lineman, announced Iowa State offered him this week. The 6-foot-4 prospect has four other offers coming from UCF, USF, Maryland and Troy.

Florida cornerback Jon Mitchell announced Iowa State’s offer during NFL Draft night. The Cyclones became the third school to extend an offer to the 6-foot 2024 prospect, along with Georgia Tech and UAB.

Jamil Watkins, a 6-foot-2 ATH in the 2024 class, announced Iowa State as his second offer this week, joining the University of Miami.

Iowa State offered 2024 cornerback Cameron Powell, joining Western Kentucky as schools to offer the 6-foot prospect out of Ocala.

The Cyclones also became the first school to offer 2024 linebacker recruit Mason Miller out of Colorado Springs. Miller stands at 6-foot-3.
