AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior guard Izaiah Brockington is one of 10 shooting guards named to the watch list for the 2022 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award, announced today by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Brockington is having an impressive first season at Iowa State, leading the Cyclones in scoring and rebounding with 16.8 points and 7.8 rebounds, both of which rank among the top three in the Big 12 Conference. The Philadelphia native is fourth in the league shooting 48.3 percent from the field, while also connecting on 40.9 percent of his 3-point attempts. He is shooting 80.4 percent at the charity stripe.

Additional awards being presented include the Bob Cousy Point Guard Award, the Julius Erving Small Forward Award, the Karl Malone Power Forward Award and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center Award, in addition to the Women’s Starting Five.
