WBB: Iowa State up to No. 7 in latest AP Poll

The Iowa State Cyclones are off to their best 17-game start in school history this season, sweeping another week to improve to 16-1 (5-0 Big 12) so far this year.

It’s gotten Iowa State all the way up to No. 7 in the latest Associated Press Top 25, making it the second-straight week the program has been ranked in the top 10.

The Cyclones are one of four Big 12 teams ranked in the poll. Oklahoma, who Iowa State owns a road win over, came in at No. 14 while Baylor and Texas tied at the 15 spot.

This sets up a pair of top 15 matchups for the Cyclones this week, with Texas coming to town on Wednesday and Iowa State visiting Baylor the ensuing Sunday.

Two Big 12 teams in Kansas State (18) and Kansas (4) came in in the receiving votes category.

Two more of Iowa State’s opponents from this season in LSU and Iowa came in at No. 11 and No. 25, respectively.

No. 7 Iowa State and No. 15 Texas are set to go to battle at Hilton Coliseum on Wednesday night in Ames. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
