RECRUITING: Georgia running back commits to ISU

Iowa State will be adding another youngster to its running backs room.

Cartevious Norton announced his pledge to Matt Campbell’s program on Thursday via his Twitter account. The three-star Waycross, Ga. native officially visited Iowa State last weekend for the Cyclones’ win over Oklahoma State.

Norton, a 5-foot-11, 210-pound Ware County High product, is considered the No. 55 running back in the 2022 recruiting class and No. 72 player in Georgia by the 247Composite. Norton chose Iowa State over offers from Akron, Buffalo, FIU, Georgia State, Northern Illinois, USF and Western Kentucky.

Norton is Iowa State’s 19th commit in its 2022 recruiting class that currently ranks as the No. 27 group of commits in the country and fourth-best class in the Big 12. He is the second running back commit in the class, joining Florida three-star Xavier Townsend.
