The Iowa State football program added a potential immediate impact piece to its roster on Sunday when North Carolina graduate transfer defensive back Greg Ross announced his commitment to the Cyclones.
The 6-foot, 188-pound Temple Hills, Md. native appeared in all 13 games last season for the Tar Heels, starting five of them and recording 26 tackles, five pass breakups and two tackles for loss. That followed a sophomore season in 2018 that saw Ross record 31 tackles and three pass breakups in eight games, including six starts.
Ross will add a veteran presence to an Iowa State secondary that already includes a handful of guys with major collegiate playing experience, including safeties Greg Eisworth and Lawrence White and cornerbacks Anthony Johnson, Datrone Young and Tayvonn Kyle.
