Narveson enters name into transfer portal

Iowa State will enter the offseason with another scholarship to work with.

Redshirt freshman kicker Brayden Narveson announced on Monday he has requested his release from Iowa State and entered his name into the transfer portal.

Narveson signed with Iowa State in the 2018 recruiting class but rarely saw the field during two seasons at the backup to Connor Assalley. The Scottsdale, Az. native did become Iowa State’s primary distance kicker near the midpoint of this season, connecting on 2-of-4 field-goal attempts, all of them coming within the range of 40-to-49 yards, with a long of 48 yards.

Assalley will return to Iowa State for his senior season in 2020 as one of the most consistent kickers in program history.
