For the third consecutive year, Iowa State has made at least one appearance in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Cyclones entered the poll this week for the first time this season jumping to No. 22 following its 23-21 win over Texas on Saturday in Ames.

Iowa State spent five weeks in the poll in 2018 reaching as high as No. 16 prior to a loss to Texas in mid-November. This week marks the program’s seventh week in college football’s most important ranking as they spent one week in the rankings during the 2017 season.

Three other Big 12 programs appeared in the poll with Oklahoma moving up one spot to No. 9, Baylor dropping one spot to No. 14 and Oklahoma State going up a spot to No. 21. Iowa State will square off with Kansas on Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium in an 11 a.m. kickoff.
